IF YOUR HEART DIDN’T SHATTER INTO A MILLION FRAGMENTS WHEN THAT LAST LINE WAS SAID YOU ARE NOT HUMAN.

I watched this the other week and i started crying my eyes out.

See. It’s not fair. They took Goofy, who even in GOOF TROOP was still just overly silly and meant for splapstick, and they give Goofy real world fatherhood problems. And to this DAY I will still mist up for this scene.

The Literary Agent's Role - Writers Write

amandaonwriting:

And it does no harm to repeat, as often as you can, ‘Without me the literary industry would not exist; the publishers, the agents, the sub-agents, the sub-sub-agents, the accountants, the libel lawyers, the department of literature, the professor, the theses, the book of criticism, the reviewers, the book pages.’ ~Doris Lessing

You do not need an agent. However, it would be nice if you could get one. Agents are an author’s guide to the book-publishing world.

Agents negotiate deals for authors. Agents know the market and they have contacts. They often help an author with practical input. Agents take care of their business while you take care of yours, which is writing.

However, most authors have misconceptions about the role of an agent and it helps to remember these points.

Temper Overview

Temper is the beginning to Rita Teal’s story where she is pulled into a whole new world filled with Hybrids, corruption, murder and power. Unknowing of her ability to control fire until a freak accident, the first novel depicts Rita’s time at a school called ‘Lefay,’ located on a different world, ‘Aval.’ Half human, half animal creatures (Hybrids) occupy this world but it is the Elemental’s that are the dominating race.

Bending fire to her whim however is not as easy as it is first made out to be. Along with the suffering of school work, strange lessons and equally odd classmates, Rita has to realise that she’s not quite like the others, her Element is stronger, hotter and not quite all of her own to control.

As well as struggling with her element, Rita reluctantly comes to terms with the fact that the Hybrid’s surrounding her are slaves rather than the servants she was led to believe, and are cruelly captured and controlled by the Elemental’s in higher power, ‘The Council.’

Rita’s servant is a Hybrid Husky called Mitch and his loyalty to her grows over the year, he stays by her side through thick and thin and will do whatever she asks apart from leave her service.

Through her adventures at Lefay school, Rita becomes a reluctant hero to the Hybrids and Elemental’s who hide and rebel against the Council and in the following novels, it’s her choices that will sway what will happen in the upcoming war.
